Abstract

MS 470 Betty Jane Johnson Gerber Collection focuses primarily on the family life of George Washington Thornton Beck (1856-1943), and his wife Daisy Sorrenson Beck (1875-1956). In addition, there are series documenting the lives of his father James Burnie Beck (1822-1890), U.S. Senator for Kentucky. George WT Beck and his wife Daisy had one son and two daughters. Betty G. Beck Joslin Roberson (1898-1972), and Jane Beck Johnson (1900-1991) who married Nelson T. Johnson. The daughter of Jane Beck Johnson and Nelson T. Johnson is Betty Jane Johnson Gerber. Each individual has a sub-series dedicated to them. There are also a large number of photographs.
