Abstract

The archives of the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. contain the original sales ledgers for firearms models (1866 – 1907), photographs of all Winchester firearms models, correspondence documenting the company's role in both World Wars, a large collection of domestic and foreign firearms catalogs, and several thousand engineering drawings. A portion of the collection contains the original patents for firearm technology purchased by Winchester.

The Winchester Repeating Arms Company records relating to Tom Hall's Research Files were compiled in the 1970s by the Winchester Gun Museum Curator in New Haven, Connecticut.  Included are memos, histories, manuals, photographic prints and other material relating to specific models of firearms.  These records reflect a portion of the research gathered by Tom Hall for firearms in the museum.
