The original ledger drawings were captured from the Sioux by Capt. R. Miller on Wounded Knee Creek, South Dakota, January 8, 1891. These color plates were produced in 1961 and sold by the Milwaukee Public Museum. The original title was "Sioux Indian Drawings" but they are now being sold by the Museum under the title "Drawings of the Battle of Wounded Knee".
